Sues Virtual Office About Me Page

What was it that led me to start running my own business? My story so far…

I’m Sue and I provide freelance PA support to individuals and companies that need to outsource administrative tasks, and in most cases don’t have a need for a full-time assistant in-house.

In 2013 I was working full time as a secretary in the City of London and looking back I never would have imagined that a few years later I would be moving into the world of self-employment, running my own business!

I had worked for a number of companies during my career (Housing, Charity, Architects, Recruitment, and Marine and Engineering) which had provided me with great all-round experience and enabled me to pick up skills within different sectors, I learned a lot and truly loved what I did.

However, in 2014 I and my partner welcomed our little girl, and the concept of returning to the office and spending all that time away from her filled me with dread.

I began researching the world of ‘remote working’ and started to learn about the amazing Virtual Assistants (VA’s) that had created a new career for themselves from home. I knew I had to find out more.

It wasn’t until the end of 2017 that I made the decision (albeit a scary one), to set myself up as a Virtual Assistant and that’s when Sues Virtual Office was born.

I now use my knowledge, skills and experience to support others. Typically my tasks depend on what my client’s business is and what their needs are, but popular requests are for diary and email management, formatting and creating of documents, travel, and the recording of expenses.

I am registered with the ICO as a Data Processor and I have full professional indemnity insurance.

I couldn’t be happier, I get to do what I enjoy while proving that PA support doesn’t need to be in-house to be effective.
